Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response

 learner response

WWW: You have some planning posted to your blog which clearly shows you have worked on the preliminary exercise but no video on your blog. Having looked at your video on the Media Shared drive you’ve got a really decent preliminary exercise with good editing and multiple locations. Now we need to develop that and improve a few key areas for the two real video adverts.

EBI: There are a few things we can reflect on here. I like the switch to the second music track but the first one I’m not sure on. It’s a brilliant piece of music but I wonder if it’s a bit downbeat for an advert? You also need to have the final section on screen for longer – the product shot, the text on screen etc. Perhaps consider voiceover too? The final thing for the real advert is mise-en-scene – particularly costume. I would avoid school uniform completely unless the narrative is specifically set in a classroom.

In terms of your planning, you definitely need more detail – particularly in terms of a shot list. You should be planning 30-40 shots for a full 40+ second advert and your planning only has four shots and no details about them. You’ll also need these for your statement of intent.

LR: Write what you are planning to make for your real coursework next. Will you choose to make the 2 video adverts or 3 print adverts? This is a very important decision.

i will be making 2 advert videos as i want to push my media skills to a top level and take advantage of the editing tools and skill I've learnt
